1. After applying StrataXRT, the gel does not dry within the recommended time. What is the reason for this?
When applied correctly, StrataXRT should be dry in 5 to 6 minutes. If it takes longer to dry you have probably applied too much. Gently remove the excess with a tissue or gauze and allow the drying process to continue.
2. Should I continue to apply StrataXRT after finishing the radiation treatment?
Continue to apply StrataXRT for a minimum of 60–90 days (24 hours a day / 7 days a week) post radiation therapy, or until no further improvement is seen.
For chronic radiation dermatitis, continued use is recommended until no further improvement is seen.
Try to flush StrataXRT out as soon as possible. The best method of removal is to wash out the eyes with an eye wash solution or if none is available, tap water. The most important point is to use a generous amount of water to ensure StrataXRT is completely flushed out of the eye. If irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult your doctor.
StrataXRT promotes a moist wound healing environment leading to use on all types of radiation dermatitis, toxic and compromised skin, and superficial wounds resulting from radiation therapy. StrataXRT is indicated for the relief of dry, itching, flaking, peeling, and irritated skin, as well as the symptomatic relief of pain, redness, and heat sensation.
No, StrataXRT does not cause a bolus effect. It has been tested with different energy levels to ensure that there is no effect on the energy beam. Additionally, the StrataXRT formula does not contain any trace of metals thus it does not scatter the treatment beam. When dry, StrataXRT forms a flexible and thin wound dressing. Its thickness can only be measured in micrometers.
10. Are there any side effects associated with the use of StrataXRT?
At the time of producing this information, no adverse effects have been reported with the use of StrataXRT. StrataXRT is non-reactive, it has no measurable pH, contains no alcohol, parabens, or fragrances, making it suitable for children, and people with sensitive skin.

The expiry date is imprinted on every box (side flap) and tube (end seal) in the format year-month (e.g. EXP 2018-09 or 13-09). The expiration (EXP) date does not change once the tube has been opened.
To maintain its inert features, StrataXRT does not contain sunscreen as it can irritate the skin of some patients. Once dry, StrataXRT may be covered by sunscreen, cosmetics and clothing.
Please be aware that you should reduce your sun exposure during radiation therapy and always cover the irradiated area with loose clothes.
StrataXRT is an occlusive, non-resorbable, self-drying, and transparent gel. When used as directed StrataXRT dries to form a protective layer that is gas permeable and waterproof which hydrates and protects compromised skin areas and superficial wounds.
StrataXRT dries to form a thin, flexible, protective layer that is gas permeable and waterproof. This helps to promote a moist wound healing environment because it minimizes the Trans Epidermal Water Loss (TEWL) of the skin. The StrataXRT film lightly bonds to the most superficial damaged skin layer and protects compromised skin areas and superficial wounds.
This moist environment will lead to rapid healing and faster skin recovery post radiation therapy. It will also reduce the acute inflammatory response, and relieve dry, itching, flaking, peeling, and irritated skin – the common side effects of radiation therapy.
In dry desquamation, StrataXRT protects the fragile epidermis and maintains the skin’s integrity, preventing the outmost layers from excessive sloughing.
In moist desquamation, StrataXRT protects the dermal stroma from long-term deterioration whilst promoting a moist wound healing environment for the reparative process.
